Jersey Shore Association for HR Announces Ann C. Edwards Scholarship Winner
The Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources (JSAHR) has announced the 2022 recipient of the Ann C. Edwards Scholarship. The winner is Ryan Roettger, Brick, who will receive $1000 for his college education at Pennsylvania State University, State College, Pennsylvania, where is planning to major in Kinesiology and pursue a doctorate degree in Orthopedics Medicine. Roettger, the son of Lisa and Rob Roettger, will graduate from Brick High School this June.
During his high school career, Roettger was a member of both the National Honor Society and the National Honor Society for High School Scholars. He has been a distinguished honor student for all eight high school semesters. He is a four-year multi-sport athlete in baseball, lacrosse, and soccer.
As part of his community service, Roettger has worked with a multitude of charitable organizations. He says one of his proudest accomplishments is his work with the Israel Guide Dog Center, which provides guide dogs to help support 24,000 citizens who are blind or visually impaired.
The scholarship, awarded annually to the son or daughter of a JSAHR member, is part of JSAHR’s commitment to building the future through the education of young adults. JSAHR, an affiliate of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), is an organization dedicated to the advancement of Human Resources professionals within Monmouth and Ocean counties.
The scholarship is named in honor of Ann C. Edwards. Edwards, who is retired, was a founding member and past president of the JSAHR. She had a long and distinguished career in the New Jersey HR field and has held a variety of leadership and managerial positions in HR. Among other accomplishments, Edwards served as the Workforce Development Director for the Garden State Council of HR for many years; and was one of the founders of the Putting Your Best Foot Forward Program, a school to work job guide.
