Gallicchio Named to Board of Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey
Lisa Gallicchio, Howell, N.J., the director of community relations for Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services, Eatontown, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey (CVCJ), an interfaith nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide supportive services without charge to the elderly, the disabled, and their caregivers, enabling them to live independently in their own homes.
Gallicchio, who served on the 2014 CVCJ Fashion Show, and Cocktails and Cuisine fundraising committees, was named a “Woman of Distinction” at the 2014 Fashion Show.
Gallicchio is a member of the Home Health Care Association. She is a board member of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Advisory Council for Lakewood High School and the Education and Scholarship Committee as co-chairwoman. She is also a member of the New Jersey and Ocean County chambers of commerce. Gallicchio is the co-chairwoman of both the Crystal Gala and the Circle of Life golf outing of the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation.
Gallicchio graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Liberal Arts, with a concentration in Labor Management. She also received an A.A. (Associate of Arts degree) in Business Administration from Brookdale Community College. Gallicchio was named Citizen of the Year in 2011 by the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce.
CVCJ provides services to people in 23 municipalities within Ocean County. More than 1,200 volunteers assist over 2,000 senior citizens each month in Ocean County with such services as medical transportation, grocery shopping, friendly visits, the Alzheimer’s Respite Care program designed to help families dealing with dementia, the Caregiver Canines® Pet Therapy program, and the Veteran’s Assistance program. CVCJ relies on grants, foundations and private donations in order to provide services at no cost to the individuals they assist.
