Century 21 Major Realty, Toms River, Moving to Bigger Offices
Century 21 Major Realty, is moving its offices to 290 West Water Street, Toms River, a more convenient and efficient location in historic downtown Toms River, after more than 35 years at its Fisher Boulevard location.
Barbara Blake and Michael “Silky” Silkowitz, co-owners of Century 21 Major Realty and prominent members of the real estate industry, expect to make a smooth transition to their new location by November 15. All services and phone numbers will remain the same.
Blake, a recent Berkeley township resident, became a licensed real estate broker in 1978 and a licensed real estate instructor in 1982. She serves as a director on the board of the Monmouth County Association of Realtors, is a member of its finances and bylaws committees, and a past member of the education committee. Blake is also past director of the Ocean County Board of Realtors and served on many committees during her 20 years of membership. Blake received her B.A. in education from Jersey City State College.
Blake began her real estate career when she moved to Toms River as a young mother from Jersey City. “Real estate has enabled me to not only raise my three children, but also to see that each attained a four-year college education, which, in turn, enabled them to become successful and independent adults.”
Co-owner Michael “Silky” Silkowitz, a Distinguished Award Winner Century 21 Centurion and past president of Century 21 Broker Council, is the director of Academy for Real
Estate Careers, 500 North Main Street, Lanoka Harbor, and serves as an affiliate member of the Ocean County Board of Realtors through the Academy. He also served as captain at the McGuire Air Force Base Fire Department, Burlington County. Silkowitz, who was born and raised in Toms River, is a graduate of Toms River North.
Both Blake and Silkowitz are proficient in American Sign Language and practice it to assist in interpreting services at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Lakehurst, on Saturday afternoons.
