Lights On! in Lakewood
Lakewood Mayor Menashe Miller has started a campaign Lights On! in Lakewood to identify burned out street lights and get them repaired at once by JCP&L. To help in this effort, Mayor Miller is calling upon Lakewood residents to gather in the auditorium of the Lakewood Municipal Building, 231 Third Street, at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27 to help to identify burned out street lights.
Volunteers will be given a street map with a specific zone to survey to make sure all street lights in that area zone are functioning. Mayor Miller estimates that with 60-70 volunteers, it should only take 20-30 minutes.
In the meantime, residents can call (732) 364-2500 Ext. POLE (7653) to report the street pole number of any lights that are out.
“This is a safety issue,” remarked Mayor Miller. “With sunset now occurring around 4:30 p.m. and with the number of pedestrians in our community wearing dark clothing, it is essential that our streets be well-lit. Join me for Lights On! in Lakewood and let’s make sure all our street lights are working properly.”
