Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services Joins ECF to Deliver Thanksgiving Food

Posted on November 20, 2020 By

Since 2007, Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services (PHHC), with offices in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, has delivered or shipped traditional Thanksgiving food to families involved with the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation (ECF). The unprepared holiday food includes turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and milk, among other items.

ECF is a not-for-profit organization that provides specialized services, at no charge, to any N.J. family who is caring for a child with cancer. ECF services include counseling; emergency financial aid; and material support, such as food, for families in crisis.

Joann Passantino, ECF executive director, said, “The goal of ECF is to help families handle the enormous demands of caring for a child with cancer and to provide support to everyone in the household, for as long as they need us, whether one month or ten years. In each of the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation’s 37 years, we have heard heart-breaking stories of fear and suffering, and heart-warming messages of gratitude for our assistance; this confirms the need for our services and inspires us every day to make sure we have the resources to continue our vital work.”
