Kearny Bank VP and Toms River Resident to Be Honored by Hometown Heroes
John V. Crisafulli, the vice president and small-business banker of Kearny Bank, Spring Lake Heights, will be honored at the Hometown Heroes 2018 Ocean County Awards Gala and Fundraiser, Thursday, May 3 at Jack Baker’s Lobster Shanty, 83 Channel Drive, Pt. Pleasant Beach, N.J., from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
In 2016, Crisafulli, a Toms River resident, founded Central Ocean Business Association (COBA), an organization of more than 100 businesses owners and professionals in seven municipalities. As president of COBA, Crisafulli communicates with mayors and town officials, serving as a liaison for the business community to foster economic growth and development.
Crisafulli is currently the district chair for the Joshua Huddy District of The Boy Scouts of America Jersey Shore Council and is a board member of the Historic STRAND Theater, Lakewood. He is active in and supports many chambers of commerce throughout Ocean County.
He has served on the boards of many nonprofits and chambers of commerce, including the Rotary Clubs of Fanwood-Scotch Plains and Union; the Union Township, Greater Elizabeth, and Monmouth Regional chambers of commerce; the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Council; and the Gateway Family YMCA, Union County. He was also president of Fanwood Business and Professional Association, and the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Club where he became a Paul Harris Fellow.
From 2013-2015, Crisafulli worked in the Motor Carrier Industry, serving Safety and NJDOT/FMCA Regulatory needs for trucking companies that handle commerce from and to Port Newark/Elizabeth.
Since its inception in 2008, Hometown Heroes, a 501(c)(3), has supported more than 10,000 individuals in more than 2,700 families with programs and services, such as homelessness, domestic violence, drug abuse, disability, illness, and natural disasters with aid totaling more than $3 million dollars.

Tickets cost $100 and include an “Up Close and Personal Tonight” talk show format, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a premiere gift auction.
